Desde 1735 según los mapas históricos de Quito, se ha dado un crecimiento significativo de la malla urbana que ha generado cambios urbano-espaciales en la ciudad debido a su emplazamiento. Sin embargo, existe una diferencia social entre las dos zonas, en la que la zona del Sur ha quedado en el olvido, sin tener ayuda de las entidades gubernamentales, carece de lugares que sean para los habitantes de ahí.
