dc.descriptionTooth decay is considered one of the most prevalent diseases worldwide. It is estimated that it affects more than 530 million children in the world and if it is not treated in a timely manner, it drastically affects the quality of life of those who suffer from it. Treatments available to prevent and stop this disease include water fluoridation, fluoride toothpastes, fluoride in varnish, sealants, Hall technique, temporary therapeutic restorations (ITR) and silver diamine fluoride (FDP). FDP is a topical solution based on fluoride and metal ions, with anticariogenic and cariostatic properties whose efficacy has been reported in several studies. Considering that its application is fast, easy, and inexpensive, and that it also does not require removal of decayed tissue, local anesthesia, or an experienced operator, it is an excellent option for very young children, little collaborators and socially vulnerable...es_ES

Se calcula que afecta a más de 530 millones de niños en el mundo y si no es tratada de forma oportuna afecta drásticamente a la calidad de vida de quién la padece. Entre los tratamientos disponibles para prevenir y detener esta enfermedad, se incluyen la fluorización del agua, pastas dentales fluoradas, flúor en barniz, sellantes, técnica Hall, restauraciones terapéuticas temporales (ITR) y el fluoruro diamino de plata (FDP).
