| dc.description | This thesis project proposes the design of a shelter for immigrants called "Nodo," located in the Bicentennial Park at the Metropolitan Traffic Agents Training Center in Quito, Ecuador. The design concept is centered on "social fabric" and is developed through three sub-concepts: flat weave, warp weave, and enveloping weave, each representing different stages of the migrant experience. The flat weave symbolizes the initial stage, the shared experiences, and the foundational connections among migrants. The warp weave represents the building of connections and mutual support in a new environment. | dc.description.abstract | El presente proyecto de titulación propone el diseño de un albergue para inmigrantes jóvenes denominado "Nodo", ubicado en el Parque Bicentenario, en el centro de formación de agentes metropolitanos de tránsito en Quito, Ecuador. El concepto de diseño se centra en el "tejido social" y se desarrolla a través de tres subconceptos: tejido plano, tejido urdimbre y tejido envolvente, que representan las distintas etapas del proceso migratorio. El tejido plano simboliza el punto de partida y las experiencias compartidas que conectan a los migrantes. El tejido urdimbre representa la construcción de vínculos y el apoyo mutuo en un nuevo entorno.
