| dc.description | This essay will attempt to present an argument favorable to the options of political participation of citizens that constitute an alternative to the right to vote, as well as to the other political rights set forth by the Political Constitution of Ecuador. In this attempt, after having defined the concept of political rights and studied their evolution in terms of a historical analysis, we will state that the exercise of political rights in Ecuador finds itself in a precarious situation due to the social and judicial importance placed on the right to vote. This right in our opinion, has relegated other rights of the same nature to an inferior position, making their application more difficult. In addition, we will analyze various alternative possibilities that could help to improve citizenship in terms of political practice. | es_ES |
| dc.description.abstract | Este trabajo intentará presentar un alegato a favor de la participación ciudadana que signifique una alternativa a la acción política concreta y a los demás derechos políticos consagrados por la Constitución. Para esto, y luego de empezar con una aproximación al concepto de derechos políticos y de relatar la evolución de este concepto, y otros similares, se pretenderá fundamentar que el ejercicio del conjunto de derechos políticos en el Ecuador se ubica en una situación precaria debido a la importancia social y jurídica concentrada en el ejercicio del derecho al voto; la misma que ha relegado a una posición inferior a los demás derechos de esta naturaleza. Analizaremos también posibles vías a seguir en el mejoramiento del ejercicio de la ciudadanía mediante un estudio breve de los derechos políticos alternativos planteados por la doctrina jurídica y las ciencias políticas. | es_ES |
