| Resumen : | El silencio y la soledad que encierran la vida monástica han creado una serie de mistificaciones acerca de las religiosas de clausura. “Las Ausentes” es un cortometraje documental que recorre los claustros, habitaciones y habitantes del monasterio del Espíritu Santo y Santa Teresa de Jesús ubicado en Riobamba, Ecuador. Un día en este lugar transcurre entre el silencio y el ruido, entre el recogimiento y la liberación, entre lo sagrado y profano; mostrando que el mundo interior creado por las monjas es tan humano como el exterior, y que su diferencia esencial radica en la necesidad de ausentarse para pertenecer a estos dos mundos. |
| Descripción : | Silence and solitude enclosing the monastic life have created a series of mystifications about cloistered nuns. "The Absence" is a documentary short film that goes over the cloisters, rooms and inhabitants of the monastery of the Holy Spirit and St. Teresa located in Riobamba, Ecuador. One day here runs between silence and noise, between meditation and liberation, between the sacred and profane; showing that the inner world created by the nuns is as human as the outside, and that its essential difference lies in the need to absent to belong to both worlds. |
