dc.descriptionThe demand for aesthetic restorations has grown considerably in recent years, increasing the use of composites and ceramics in extensive restorations in posterior teeth. These materials promote the obtaining of a optimal proximal contacts with the adjacent teeth, facilitate restoring the oclusal anatomy and a better finishing and polishing, compared to direct posterior restorations composite. The choice of the material must be made with great discretion by the professional, evaluating the dental remnant, patient profile and cost of materials, taking into account the functional and aesthetic balance of the posterior area. When they are well indicated, subsequent indirect composite and ceramic restorations have good marginal adaptation, high strength and high success rate.es_ES
dc.description.abstractLa demanda de restauraciones estéticas ha crecido considerablemente en los últimos años, aumentado la utilización de resinas compuestas y cerámicas en resituaciones posteriores extensas. Estos materiales favorecen la obtención de contactos proximales con los dientes adyacentes de manera afectiva, facilitan el restablecimiento de la anatomía oclusal y un mejor acabamiento y pulido, en comparación con restauraciones posteriores de resina compuesta directa. La elección del material que se utiliza se debe realizar con mucho criterio por el profesional, evaluando el remanente dental, el perfil del paciente y los costos de los materiales, tomando en cuenta el equilibrio funcional y estético de la zona posterior. Cuando son bien indicadas, las restauraciones posteriores indirectas de resina compuesta y de cerámica, presentan una buena adaptación marginal, alta resistencia y un porcentaje de éxito elevado.es_ES
