| dc.description | Since the beginning of humanity, the search for a place to shelter from the effects and ravages of nature and the attack of other living creatures, has been one of the primary tasks of individuals. The use of different materials such as earth, wood, leaves and stones, plus the discovery of other such as cement and steel, coupled with the development of increasingly efficient construction techniques, has provided mankind with better solutions for getting housing, with two main drawbacks: insufficient availability and prices that are not available to lower economic segments. In Ecuador, the housing deficit is estimated to be greater than 1'200.000 units, 80% of them belong to the low-income segment, for which there are units starting at US$12,000. | es_ES |
| dc.description.abstract | Desde el inicio de la humanidad, la búsqueda de un sitio donde refugiarse de los efectos e inclemencias de la naturaleza y ataques de otros seres vivos, ha sido una de las tareas primordiales de los individuos. El uso de distintos materiales como la tierra, la madera, las hojas y piedras, más el descubrimiento de otros como el cemento y el acero, sumado al desarrollo de técnicas constructivas cada vez más eficientes, han facilitado al ser humano el conseguir mejores soluciones de vivienda, con dos inconvenientes principales: no hay suficiente disponibilidad y los precios no están al alcance de segmentos económicos bajos. | es_ES |
