dc.descriptionIn Ecuador, there is currently no public health surveillance system dedicated to monitoring the use of antimicrobial agents in food-producing animals. The emergence of resistance in foodborne bacteria such as Escherichia coli and pathogenic Campylobacter spp. is closely linked to the use of antibiotics in these animals. Infections caused by these resistant bacteria have been well-documented in humans, and as antimicrobial resistance (AMR) continues to increase, treatment failures may become more frequent due to the reduced efficacy of commonly used antibiotics...es_ES
