| dc.description | Tejidos Pintex S.A. is a textile industry that recently decided to unify its two facilities. All the machines were relocated into the main building hoping to reduce transportation costs and logistic difficulties and to raise manufacturing capacity, but this relocation increased the material handling problem along the production lines. Management saw the need of finding original and effective solutions to optimize inventory levels, space and transportation systems. The idea of simulating the process arose because of the need to obtain better and reliable data. | es_ES |
| dc.description.abstract | Tejidos Pintex S.A. es una empresa de manufactura de telas. Por el desarrollo actual de la empresa, se produjo una unificación entre dos secciones separadas para aumentar la capacidad de producción. Apareció la necesidad de optimizar los espacios y el manejo de materiales junto con el flujo general del proceso, dado que se dobló el número de máquinas en servicio ubicando todas las disponibles en el mismo edificio, sin modificar el tamaño de las instalaciones. Esta necesidad de encontrar soluciones originales y efectivas llevó a los directivos a iniciar un proyecto para mejorar el transporte de materiales. Se planteó la posibilidad de simular los procesos existentes para abarcar mayor información y obtener mejores resultados. | es_ES |
